May We Have Enough to Share Reading Guide + Sticky Note Printable

INTRODUCTION

This reading guide is designed to accompany Richard Van Camp’s book May We Have Enough to Share. We hold the belief that anti-racist practice is a process of learning (and unlearning) over time. Reading Is Resistance sees reading as an opportunity to seed deeper conversations and possibilities for action around racial justice.

Lesson content was written by Zapoura Newton-Calvert and was designed to start and deepen anti-bias/anti-racist conversations in families and other learning communities.

BOOK THEMES

INDIGENEITY, DECOLONIZATION, ABUNDANCE, SHARING RESOURCES, GRATITUDE

BOOK SUMMARY

This sweet board book is designed for the littlest readers but can be read by all ages. With touching photographs by the Tea and Bannock collective and words by Richard Van Camp, this story is much like a prayer or a meditation. “May we have enough” is repeated throughout as the words and images take us through a reflective process about ourselves, Mother Earth, and what we have to share.
